Context:

Majority of teachers in Indonesia cannot speak or understand English. The main reason of this is that English is not their spoken language. It is even not the second language. Most Indonesian have their local languages called "Bahasa Daerah", which is different from one area to another. It has been for many year, teachers and students in the schools are required to use "Bahasa Indonesia" (Indonesian National language), which is very important as a communication tool for people from different local language background. English it self is regarded as an International language. It is only one of the subject matters taught at middle and high school. The benefits of English was not realised for many years ago, except just as an element of school assessment or national examination. The predominant english teaching approach which emphasised more on grammar than communication and the influance of cultural context are also other factors of the difficulty to master English. As a result of the lack of proficiency in English communication is that millions online learning resources provided through the Internet are not usable for the majority of mathematics teachers in Indonesia.
