Saya perlu menulis hanya satu halaman tentang kaitan antara penelitian saya dengan penelitian terdahulu dalam hubungan dengan implikasi PD with the Internet in Indonesia.

Pertama, karena saya sudah draw a picture tentang Indonesia yang menunjukkan hal:

• rendahnya kualitas pengajaran, maka perlu PD
• adanya kebijakan dari pemerintah yang bermaksud mendorong peningkatan mutu guru namun tampaknya cara tersebut lumayan menimbulkan masalah dan solusi itu sepertinya mencerminkan kekurangpahaman pemerintah akan esensi dari pembelajaran guru.
• upaya pemerintah dalam mempersiapkan penataran ICT, tapi ini tidak cukup, seperti yang terjadi di tempat lain.

Nah dalam penelitian saya, saya akan menunjukkan satu contoh atau peluang untuk teacher's PD, yaitu dengan memanfaatkan teknology yang sedang berkembang pesat saat ini.

Nah mari kita pelajari kasus penelitian saya.

She could explore more what she learnt through face to face and she could ask questions and she could still connect o the expert. For Indonesian teachers, the typial of PD is short term and many times in a distant areas because the geographical feature. Through the uses of the Internet, the same pattern could be done. In the case of Ann, the informatioan (in nglish) are available that enable her to do many things. The question for Indonesia, to how rich of the educational informations and how the quality are still unexplored. Therefore, I will talk about separately about the online resources.
• Let's look at the case of Jack. At the time of the research, Internet is an ubiquitos in Australia. Jack has access to the Internet any where. But as a beginning teacher, he admitted that he prefer the face to face PD and this appeared to me as that this a significant factor inhibiting me to connect Jack with other teachers through online. Another lesson from Jack is that I have offered the intensive PD in his own context, considering the five characteristic of PD (in section 6.2). However, many difficulties to promote the Internet as a tool of his learning. The analysis in 6.1 explain the influential factors that told us the complexity of the teacher professional development. the complexity of the teacher's learning (this has been explored by many researchers such as Borko). The meaning for Indonesia, the variety of teachers in Indonesia (academic background, the difference in knowledge and beliefs) should be the main consideration in offering the PD to Indonesia. The certification that push teachers to attend many seminars and workshop should be reconsidered since this type of PD very limited in exploring what knowledge and beliefs teachers brought and how the school teachers context appropriate. Also for the teacher institution who are conducting the certifications must consider the teachers, offering the methods that really considering the characteristic of teachers learning, the five characteristics of effective PD. The critics of inability of the teachers institution preparing teachers to make a difference in the classroom must be attended.

The cases of Jack really told us being competence in using the Internet does not mean able to integrate the Internet into rich way. The pedagogy, the cpk, the knowledge about the content are the must to be able to use the Internet in teaching mathematics. Therefore, there is needs to run the PD that discussing the implementations of the Internet into teaching maths. Also the teacher institutions must prepare the teachers in facing the situation where the Internet are readily access and students are living in the digital world.
